Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources (Department) proposes to amend the 1978 Conservation Agreement (the Agreement) it has with United Conservation District, Newhall Land and Farming Company, Newhall County Water District, and the County of Los Angeles, collectively the Downstream Users, to allow the transfer of 8,786 acre-feet of the 2001 Castaic Creek flood flows (storm waters) to Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA). The remaining portion of 2001 Castaic Creek flood flows, 1,200 acre-feet, will be retained by the Department to support recreation at Castaic Lagoon. The Downstream Users have assigned the 2001 Castaic Creek flood flows to CLWA without expectation of repayment or compensation. CLWA will use the water to meet its residential and municipal demands for the 2001 water year.
