Document Description
The proposed project consists of upgrading the existing fire alarm systems at Buildings 1 and 2 and will involve modifications and additions to the Fire Alarm Systems to conform to minimum fire and life safety code standards contained within the 1998 California Building Standards Code (CBSC). This upgrade will also involve additions to the emergency warning systems as part of the Fire Alarm System to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The CBSC upgrades will involve retrofitting interior exit doors in exit passageways with magnetic door holders that will automatically close by actuation of a smoke detector. Additionally, the Day Care Centers in both buildings require an approved Fire Alarm System that can be tested monthly during fire drills. The ADA upgrades will involve adjusting the heights of the manual fire alarm pull stations and adding visual and audible alarms to toilets, corridors, conference rooms, training rooms and lobbies.
