Document Description
Oroville-Wyandotte Irrigation District plans to pass gravel, cobble, and sediment through their Slate Creek Diversion Dam during winter storm events in order to clear material from the vicinity of the project structures (valves, trash racks, tunnel, etc.). Sediment accumulation peaked during a 1997 storm event, and threatens the project structures and minimum fish flows. The sediment pass-through events will be part of normal maintenance of the hydro project, subject to monitoring and various permit requirements.
