Document Description
The proposed action is to convey title to the described parcel of land to the County of Imperial by converting the existing lease to a patent. Special pricing of $10 per acre would apply to this conveyance because the land would continue to be government-controlled and used to serve the general public. The total cost to the County to acquire title to this site would be $312. Although the leased area contains 40 acres, the County has surveyed and redefined the boundary of the acreage required for their purposes, thereby reducing the area to be conveyed from 40 acres to 31.25 acres. About 1.5 acres of the 31.25 acres is lightly vegetated creosote bush scrub; the remaining acreage is a heavily impacted landfill area virtually devoid of vegetation. The County plans to convert their operation to a solid waste transfer station where refuse is placed in containers and hauled to a regional landfill. No expansion of the landfill is contemplated.
