Document Description
Construction of 2 soldier pile retaining walls on the banks of an unnamed tributary to San Francisco Bay at 1050 Grand View Drive in Berkeley, California. The retaining walls are being constructed to repair an existing landslide at the side. The soldier piles will be placed approximately 5 to 6 feet apart along the banks. The lower wall is located approximately 7-10 feet from the creek and the upper wall approximately 30-35 feet from the creek. The lower wall is approximately 80 feet in length and the upper wall is about 30 feet long. Equipment and materials will be carried in by hand. No equipment or materials will be placed in the creek or operate in the creek. A small footbridge will also be reconstructed on site, and will free span the creek. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0012 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
