Document Description
The project involves a request from the Santa Barbara Christian School (SBCS) to operate an elementary school (grades K-5) on a 4.3-acre parcel. The northern portion of the property is currently developed with the Emanuel Lutheran Church consisting of a sanctuary, offices, Fellowship Hall, Sunday school classrooms, and storage totaling 18,750 square feet. The proposed SBCS would occupy the southern portion of the parcel and would entail the installation of five modular classrooms, one modular unit for library/office purposes, and a unit for restrooms for a total of 9,120 square feet. Primary access to the site is from Modoc Road. Two driveway entrances are also located on Ferrara Way, but will not be utilized during school hours of operation. There is also an existing driveway entrance on the western property line which provides access from the Vista Del Monte retirement facility.
