Document Description
The project will involve a 15-minute fireworks display accompanied by music on May 19, 2001, from barges located in Sly Park Reservoir. The largest shell caliber will be 6 inches. Although state law requires a safety zone of 70 feet diameter per inch caliber, the safety zone for this event will be 100 feet per inch caliber. Two patrol boats from the Sheriff's Department are planned to be present, along with two other boats from the company for security during the show. The California Highway Patrol is expected to provide coordination of traffic control around the Park on public roads, and the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department Explorers' Program has been asked to conduct traffic and parking patrol in the park. Fire and law enforcement units from the California Department of Forestry will be present for public safety purposes.
