Document Description
The proposed project is located entirely within the inland side of the Highway 1 right of way. It entails the replacement of an existing 97 meter long concrete K rail barrier, that has been found to provide inadequate rockfall protection, with an approximately 4 meter high, 186 meter long, flexible wire mesh, barrier fence, supported by steel H-piles, located approximately 3 meters above the roadway. The barrier also incorporates plastic coated wire mesh material that will be draped across the ground downslope from the fence to the toe of the slope. Structural materials will be of a color that blends in with the natural background.
