Document Description
The construction of three outfall drain structures, all along the east bank of Uvas Creek. Where Uvas Creek flows under the Luchessa Avenue bridge, the proposed improvements include a 12-foot wide asphalt bike path and concrete retaining wall with heights up to nine feet for approximately 300 feet along the creek bank and an 8-inch storm drain outfall. Approximately 300 feet downstream of the Luchessa Avenue bridge, a 12-inch storm drain outfall is proposed. Where Uvas Creek flows adjacent to the west end of Farman Lane, a 36-inch storm drain outfall is proposed. It is anticipated that backhoes and bulldozers will be used for this construction. These outfalls will prevent flooding and erosion into Uvas Creek from the new bike/pedestrian trail being constructed along the creek bank. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Permit Number #R3-2000-1323 pursuant to Section 1601 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Bill Headley/City of Gilroy.
