Document Description
Application 30664 seeks to appropriate water in two onstream reservoirs, POD 1 and POD 3, with capacities of 237 acre-feet (af) and 49 af, respectively, in Napa County. These PODs are in the Gordon Valley portion of the Suisun watershed immediately upstream of Lake Curry. Both reservoirs will serve the same POU, a proposed 153-acre vineyard. Uses will include vineyard irrigation, frost protection and heat control, stock watering, and incidental recreation. Both reservoirs will be formed by construction of earth embankment dams. POD 1 will be built to a height of approximately 44 feet from toe to spillway crest, and POD 3 to a height of approximately 25 feet. It is anticipated that soil materials for the dams will be obtained from within the respective reservoir areas below the maximum storage elevation. The proposed POU is currently open range, and livestock roams throughout designated areas. Several existing ponds in the POU are registered with and have Statements of Use on file at the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Water Rights.
