California Department of Water Resources would purchase up to 30,000 acre-feet of SCVWD's State Water Project entitlement water stored in the Semitropic Groundwater Banking Program and/or lease up to 30,000 acre-feet of storage space for use by the Environmental Water Account during 2001. The project also includes provisions to extract the water. This acquired water or storage will be used for the first year EWA program.
