Document Description
Development of a new Caltrans District 7 headquarters building containing approximately 716,200 gross square feet of office space and parking for up to 1,142 vehicles. The new building would be located on block between 1st, 2nd, Los Angeles and Main Streets, and would accommodate an estimated 1,837 Caltrans employees and 564 City Department of Transportation employees. The north end of project site is occupied by several one and two-story commercial buildings and by the Latino Museum of History, Art and Culture, which has been closed for a number of months. The remaining 2/3 of the block is occupied by an existing Caltrans employee parking lot.
