Document Description
The applicant proposes to modify an existing 320 megawatt natural gas-fired simple cycle power plant. Changes include an expanded project footprint, 15.5 miles of water line, 2.5 miles of wastewater disposal line, up to six deep injection wells and a .9 mile recycle water line. The amended project may result in impacts to San Joaquin antelope squirrel, giant kangaroo rat, Tipton kangaroo rat, San Joaquin kit fox, Bakersfield smallscale, and California jewelflower which are protected under the California Endangered Species Act, requiring issuance of a California Incidental Take Permit (Permit) for these species. The blunt-nosed leopard lizard, which is State-listed and a fully protected reptile, may also occupy the project area, but incidental take of the blunt-nosed leopard lizard is not authorized by the permit and the permit holder must avoid take of this species.
