Document Description
The project involves the adoption of an amendment to the two (2) existing Redevelopment Plans. The action will extend the Redevelopment Agency's authority to commence eminent domain proceedings on properties within the Project Areas for an additional 12-year term. The proposed action will not alter the boundaries of the Project Areas. Although no development or construction is proposed at this time, the continued implementation of the Redevelopment Plans is expected to facilitate commercial, industrial/manufacturing and residential development in the Project Areas in conformance with the Norwalk General Plan, to address various environmental issues, and to mitigate existing public infrastructure system deficiencies. The primary purpose of the Redevelopment Plans continue to be the elimination of physical and economic blighting conditions that hinder the full development of the Project Areas.
