Document Description
The Santa Barbara County Water Agency proposes to continue the cloud seeding activities currently being implemented. These activities have been ongoing since 1981 and serve to augment natural rainfall to increase available water supplies by inducing higher rates of groundwater basin recharge and runoff into surface reservoirs. The cloudseeding program targets two geographical areas: the Santa Ynez River watershed above Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County and the watershed area of the Twitchell Reservoir within Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
