Document Description
The EIR will evaluate the environmental impacts from a phased two-step development for the San Diego International Airport. Step 1 consists of the construction and operation of a new 10-gate northern passenger terminal (245,000 square feet); associated taxiways and aircraft parking apron north of the existing runway; roadway access and parking improvements (3,100 to 4,000 vehicles); a relocation of existing air cargo operations on-site; and improved transit service. Step 2 consists primarily of the further expansion of the north terminal by additional gates; increased apron space for aircraft maneuvering, aircraft overnight parking, and air cargo; and expanded parking facilities.
