Document Description
The levees were damaged by the "El Nino" floods of 1998. Reclamation District 900 maintains the levees along the west bank of Sacramento River southeast of the City of West Sacramento. Five (5) levee erosion sites are to be repaired, totaling about 724 linear feet of shoreline. Eroded sites will be repaired by excavating them to firm ground, then backfilling with soil and replacing rock rip rap as necessary for restoration. Fish and wildlife habitat impacts will be mitigated by replanting disturbed soils with herbaceous or woody plants, and providing an offsite mitigation area.
