Document Description
0.6 mile bicycle path in public park; 14-ft trailbed with 10-ft asphalt surface and 2-ft shoulders on either side. The proposed project is a 3,290 linear-foot segment of paved surface, shared-use trail for bicyclists and pedestrians. Located within JFK Memorial Park, the trail extends from highway 121 to a point west of the Duck Pond in the Park. The trail design is consistent with that proposed and adopted as part of the Kennedy Park Master Plan. The total 14-ft. trailbed sections reflect a 10-ft. width for bicycles, with centerline pavement markings. There are 2-ft. shoulders on either side of the trail, one side to be used by joggers and walkers, and the other to provide a 2-ft. seperation between the trail and vegetation. Materials consist of a 2-inch asphalt paving area over a 4-in. compacted aggregate sub-base. The maximum grade than one-half inch in diameter will be pruned where same extends into the trailway.
