Document Description
Lahontan is proposing three projects aimed at continuing site remediation at Leviathan Mine (the Site). One project involves installing a groundwater interception trench as a means to reduce the volume of acid mine drainage (AMD) generated at the Site. The second project involves treating AMD held in the evaporation ponds at the Site as a means to preclude the discharge of AMD from the ponds. The third project involves a treatability study to evaluate lime neutralization of AMD emanating from beneath the Leviathan Creek channel (also referred to as the Channel Under Drain [CUD].
