Document Description
The project would improve safety and provide congestion relief on State Route 46. This would be accomplished by creating an additional travel lane in each direction (east and west), separating the east and west-bound lanes by a median, improving inside and outside paved shoulder widths, and by improving left-turn channelization at all public road intersections within the project limits. Safety would also be improved by eliminating the State Routes 46/41 junction, which is an at-grade intersection, and constructing an interchange for the connection. For the purposes of funding and programming the project is planned for construction in two phases, the first phase is anticipated for construction in winter 2007 and expected for completion in 2009.
