Document Description
The proposed 52nd Street Area Elmentary School would accommodate a planned enrollment of approximately 700-900 students, kindergarten through grade five. The school would principally serve a portion of the students residing in the Colina del Sol and adjacent neighborhood areas in the community of City Heights. Faculty would consist of approximately fifty-two (52) full-time employees. Approximately seventy (70) off-street parking spaces would be provided at the site. The project also includes playground facilities and joint-use turf fields that would be available to the public after school hours. The school site could be developed with other compatible youth and neighborhood resident serving facilities on site or adjacent to the site. The proposed elementary school would serve to relieve the enrollment at existing schools that may include Euclid, Jackson and/or Marshall elementary schools. The City of San Diego identifies the Colina del Sol neighborhood as "Colina Park" in the Mid-City Communities Plan (August 1998).
