Document Description
This is an application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow a 24,000 square foot homeless shelter in an existing industrial building located on the south corner of Ninth and D Streets. The facility is proposed to be developed in two phases. The first phase is approximately 10,000 square feet and is proposed to contain 120 beds divided between emergency and transitional housing, each separated into men's and women's quarters, as well as kitchen facilities, restrooms and a police office. The second phase, build-out, is proposed to expand the facility to approximately 24,000 square feet and 228 beds, which would be configured in the same manner described above. The second phase of development will also add classrooms, laundry facilities, a medical/dental office, a dining room and a day room (living room). Finally, a couple of minor alterations are proposed to the outside of the building to provide for a bicycle storage area and entry feature.
