Document Description
The levees were damaged by the "El Nino"floods of 1998. Reclamation District 3 maintains the levees surrounding Grand Island, located in The Sacramento River Delta in southwestern Sacramento Co. 52 levee erosion sites are to be repaired, totaling 13,900 linear feet of shoreline. Some sites appear to coincide with preexisting fishing access points. Eroded sites will be repaired by excavating them to firm ground and clearing trees and brush for construction access. Sites will be backfilled with soil and rock revetment and replanted with herbaceous or woody plants.
