Document Description
The City of Ceres is proposing an incremental expansion of the City of Ceres Wastewater Treatment Plan (WWTP) from 2.5 Millions Gallons per Day (MGD) to 7.9 MGD to accommodate increased flows from planned growth in the City of Ceres (City) General Plan. The first increment is 1.0 MGD. The second increment is 1.5 MGD and the remaining increments are 1.0 MGD each until maximum capacity is reached. The supplemental EIR will address the environmental effects of the first increment expansion of 1.0 MGD at a project level of detail, while the ultimate expansion of the WWTP to 7.9 MGD will be addressed at a program level of detail (pursuant to CEQA Guidelines). The project would involve construction of an advanced treatment plant for new flows. The advanced plant will consist of an oxidation ditch, clarification, filtration and ultra violet disinfection with effluent disposal by one of four alternative disposal options. Only those components needed for the selected disposal option will be constructed.
