The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 7, in cooperation with the City of Glendale is proposing to modify the Interstate 5/Western Avenue Interchange and surrounding surface streets. The proposed project may necessitate the acquisition of properties within and adjacent to the project area. The project is within the San Fernando Valley Wellfield Superfund site, which is limited to groundwater. Contaminated soils may also be encountered throughout the project area. The proposed work will require the acquisition of a right of way.
