Document Description
CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1603 (SAA #5-080-00) of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, California Public Utilities Commission in conjunction with the applicant's proposal to install and operate the Los Angeles - Irvine West Local Loops Fiber Optic Project, a 152-mile fiber optic cable segment within portions of Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This project crosses numerous storm channels and channelized creeks and rivers in Los Angeles and Orange counties. This project is a small part of a larger nationwide and international fiber optic network. The operator proposes to directionally bore under all seasonal and perennial drainages (32 stream crossing areas) and sensitive habitat areas. Staging areas for entry and exit areas for borings under stream crossings will be located outside the drainage areas and any associated riparian vegetation.
