Proposed amendment sot BAAQMD Regulation 11, Rule 16 would accelerate the existing phase-out of perchloroethylene dry cleaning operations within the jurisdiction of the BAAQMD. Beginning on July 1, 2011, existing perchloroethylene dry cleaning machines would be retired when they reach 12 years of age, rather than at 15 years of age as under the exitsing schedule. Perchloroethylene use in dry cleaning machines in the BAAQMD would be eliminated by JAnuary 1, 2020 rather than January 1, 2023.
