Document Description
Amend existing Reclamation Plan to include terrace deposits in northwest portion of site so that vested rights to mine said deposits can be exercised with the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA). The total area occupied by terrace deposits is approximately 41 acres; however, setbacks of 50 feet and 75 feet are proposed from the westerly and northerly property lines respectively. The terrace would be mined to an elevation 334 feet above mean sea level, which is approximately the elevation of the adjacent river and above groundwater levels. Final grades would be reached over a 10 to 15 year period, with mining and reclamation activities progressing in a north to south direction. The proposed end use for use for terrace area is open space and wildlife habitat and would be revegetated accordingly.
