Document Description
The 65-acre John Smith Road Landfill is comprised of a closed approximately 8-acre Class I Area and an approximately 57-acre active Class III landfill. Of the 57 acres, 50 acres are permitted to receive waste with approximately 29 acres having received waste to date. The current landfill plan, described in the Joint Technical Document, will utilize 15 of the remaining 28 acres of the permitted area bringing the ultimate landfill footprint to 44 acres. The approximately 13 acres not proposed to be used for waste disposal is utilized by the entrance facilities, access road, recyclable material drop-off area, and buffer area.
