Document Description
The current request by the landfill is to expand the project beyond the 1988 limits. This modification would expand the site capacity by 15.3 million cubic yards of refuse (29.6 million tons total), the refuse column footprint by 60.6 acres (185.6 acres total) and modify the permit boundary. The site life would be extended an additional 30 years to 2034 (or as determined by the Board of Supervisor's approval). No changes to the daily refuse tonnage limits or operational limits are proposed, although increases in daily traffic over existing volumes are proposed. The permit boundary modification would swap land with the adjacent land owner (UNOCAL Corp.), resulting in changes in the boundary line and a net increase of 21 acres in the size of the permit area (295 acres total).
