Document Description
The SGVWC proposes to construct an IX treatment facility for their existing water system in order to decrease the amount of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) to be lower than the State Water Board's Notification Levels (Nls). The Project will include the replacement of 240-feet of 24-inch water main piping. Additionally, a 3,000-feet2 (ft2) concrete pad will be installed and the IX treatment system will be constructed on the pad. The IX system will have a capacity of 7,000 gallons per minute·. The waste will be removed and tested by the system's vendor before being delivered to a hazardous waste facility. The construction area is approximately 7,840-ft2. The Project location is a 47,000-ft2 concrete lot currently used by SGVWC to produce, store and distribute drinking water using well pumps and storage tanks. The surrounding area is urbanized, densely populated, and surrounded by wrought iron fencing and concrete block walls.
