The Coast Guard proposes to conduct mechanical dredging to deepen areas to the southeast of Coast Guard Sector San Francisco at Yerba Buena Island, City and County of San Francisco, CA. The dredging will provide a safe approach and mooring for the Coast Guard Cutter Aspen and other Coast Guard vessels that may need to moor at Sector San Francisco in order to fulfill the USCG mission. The Coast Guard anticipates the initial dredging episode would remove up to 88,000 cy of material, and up to 200,000 cy would be removed over 10 years during future maintenance dredging episodes.
