Document Description
The DWP proposes to construct 12.29 mi of new pipeline to replace pipeline that is no longer efficient or effective, due to age or b/c it is undersized; installation of new pipeline to create loops and improve fire flow and water quality. Of the 12.29 miles of pipeline that will be installed, approx 2.41 mi of pipeline installed will be new alignments that will improve flow within DWP's service area. The proposed 2.41 mi of new pipeline will create loops in the system to provide better fire flow, increase system efficiency, and prevent stagnation of water at dead ends within DWP's potable water system, which will not increase demand of or production of potable water over the long term.
