Document Description
To minimize the impact of aquatic weeds and algae on SWP water quality and conveyance, DWR plants to apply aquatic pesticides on an as-needed basis at Quail Lake, Silverwood Lake, and East Branch Aqueduct, including the Tehachapi Afterbays, shown in Figures 1-4 of IS/MND. DWR plans to apply the aquatic herbicides to these water bodies under the statewide general National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, Water Quality Order No. 2013-0002-DWQ. Additionally, DWR will request a discharge prohibition exemption from the Lahontan RWQCB prior to implementation of this project.
