Document Description
The project is limited to the removal of an existing retaining wall structure, construction of a new retaining wall and restoration of the creek bank on Dry Creek, San Mateo County. The existing 35-foot concrete retaining wall will be removed by an excavator and by hand and hauled offsite. A new 25-foot stitch pier retaining wall system will be built approximately nine feet south of the existing wall, closer to the property. The stitch piers will stabilize the slope and will be drilled from above with a silt fence or catchment device below the drill holes to avoid any sediment from being mobilized into the stream. The creek bank above the existing retaining wall will be graded to a 2:1 slope with a mini-excavator staged above the bank. The flat parking area on top of the bank will be abandoned and limited for use as a small pedestrian pathway. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2015-0162-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
