Document Description
CDFW is executing Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0156-R6, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Permittee, the Caltrans District 9, represented by Ms. Angela Calloway. The Little Walker River Shoulder Widening Project includes the expansion of the existing shoulders from two to eight feet along 3.3 miles existing highway. This project will include the removal of riparian vegetation, installation of rock-slope-protection, grading and the installation of retaining walls within the CDFW-jurisdictional West Walker River streambed. The Streambed Alteration Agreement is being issued to address the removal of 295 mature coyote willow scrubs (Salix exigua) and 6 mature yellow willow trees (Salix lutea); permanent impacts to 0.38 acres of riparian habitat, 0.001 acres of wetland habitat, and 0.06 acres of streambed. Surface flows will be diverted around the project during construction activities. Equipment staging maintenance will be located in upland locations.
