Document Description
NOTE: Shortened Review Amend the existing Edwards Air Force Base Solid Waste Facility (SWFP No. 15-AA-0150) to allow the current landfill to expand vertically an additional 10 ft and to increase the tonnage and vehicle count. To elevate the landfill by 10 ft can maintain the current waste footprint and drainage system. This amendment will include increasing the peak daily refuse to include construction and demolition debris from 120 to 350 tons. Green waste for the composting would increase from 60 to 160 tons per day, so the permit will increase from 180 tons per day total to 510 tons per day. Increase daily vehicle limit from 50 to 100 per day. Most of this increase will be short trips from the main base near the landfill from housing demolition to the landfill for disposal, which with end dump trucks of expansion, the remaining capacity will increase from 1,037,337 to 1,642,111 cy. Closure is estimated in 2023.
