Document Description
The project includes intersection improvements for compliance with the American Disabilities Act. The project includes the installation of new sidewalk ramps at the four intersection corners as well as audible pedestrian signal equipment. Four new 7-foot 1B poles will be installed to accommodate the new equipment. New curb, gutter, sidewalk, and ADA compliant ramps will be constructed at the northwest, northeast, and southeast corners. AC dike will be installed at the southwest corner. Pedestrian push buttons and pedestrian signal heads will be upgraded to meet current Sacramento County standards and ADA requirements. The northbound approach will be widened 5-7 feet for approximately 140 feet in order to move the bike lane from the pedestrian area to the adjacent traffic lanes. The areas of the existing crosswalks will be slurry sealed and re-striped as necessary to realign the crosswalks with the proposed pedestrian ramps.
