Document Description
Construction and operation of the Stanford Perimeter Trail (SPT) consisting of a 3.4 mile long multi-use recreational trail (walking, jogging, biking) along three of the four major streets surrounding the Stanford University core campus: Junipero Serra Boulevard, Stanford Avenue and El Camino Real. Currently, there are 73 informal parking spaces that are available on Stanford Avenue between Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ryan Court. Fifteen (15) parking spaces will be eliminated from Stanford Avenue road right-of-way, to accommodate the SPT. Stanford proposes to provide 33 new parking spaces on Coyote Hill Road that will result in a total of 91 parking spaces (58 spaces on Stanford Avenue and 33 spaces on Coyote Hill Road) available for the SPT and other area trail users. Stanford University proposes to restripe Coyote Hill Road, reducing the number of travel lanes four to two, and utilize the space for parallel parking and new sidewalks. No protected trees will be removed as part of this project. The project has an estimated grading of 4,500 cubic yards of cut and 4,500 cubic yards of fill.
